The growth-retarding action of B-995 is attributed to the formation of 1,1-dimethylhydrazine in vivo. This hydrazine strongly inhibited tryptamine oxidation by pea epicotyl homogenates[1]. Daminozide (N-(dimethylamino)succinamic acid, 160 Da), a plant growth regulator, selectively inhibits the KDM2/7 JmjC subfamily[2]._x000D_ in vitro: Essential oil content increased with increasing levels of gibberellins and decreased when gibberellin biosynthesis was blocked withdaminozide.
